Naral Pro-Choice Connecticut Names Sarah Croucher As Executive Director

Hartford, CT – NARAL Pro-Choice Connecticut is pleased to announce the selection of Sarah Croucher as Executive Director, leading the organization into one of the most exciting election cycles in recent memory.

Ms. Croucher, a British transplant ("Qui transtulit sustinet!") holds multiple degrees from the University of Manchester. Most recently Ms. Croucher held the position of Assistant Professor of Anthropology, Archaeology, and Feminist, Gender & Sexuality Studies at Wesleyan University and Adjunct Assistant Professor at Columbia University. Her background also includes field work in Zanzibar, Tanzania, Ghana, and Bahrain; she also served on the Gender and Minority Affairs Committee of the Society for Historical Archaeology, and was coordinator for the Women’s and Gender Network of the Society for Africanist Archaeologists.

"During my eight years as an Assistant Professor of Anthropology and Feminist, Gender, & Sexuality Studies, I was significantly invested in issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion. I have successfully worked to raise issues of paid parental leave policies, tenure, promotion, and equity with regard to women of color, and addressed gender discrimination and sexual harassment in the field of anthropology.

"In this deeply significant election year,” she has stated, "my goal with NARAL Pro-Choice Connecticut will be the election of pro-choice office holders at every level of government in order to ensure and continue our progress with women’s reproductive rights.”

Rob Kavaler

Rob joined GPS in June 2014, and brings his knowledge of graphic design, photography, social media and other digital media to the firm. Before joining the team, Rob worked as a freelancer for various businesses and organizations in the Greater Hartford area including The Open Hearth Association, Charter Oak Cultural Center, Center for Higher Education Retention Excellence (CHERE) and the West Hartford Summer Arts Festival. Kavaler has designed logos, event programs, brochures, newsletters, posters and other collateral materials. He has photographed events including news conferences, public hearings, concerts, theatrical performances and dance showcases. As a creative person he is always looking for a new challenge, enjoys working closely with clients and strives for the best quality in his work. Rob graduated from Eastern Connecticut State University with a B.A. in Visual Arts, with a concentration in Digital Art & Design and a minor in Communication.
